Founded in 1892 in the rice-growing village of Amano-mura, Matsuzaki Sake Brewery has a long-standing tradition of crafting sake rooted in local heritage. The brand name Hirotogawa comes from the nearby river that has flowed alongside the brewery since its beginning. Originally started by Matsuzaki Shichinosuke as a koji shop, the brewery has been producing beloved local sake for generations.
In 2011, Matsuzaki expanded its reach nationwide while continuing to focus on traditional techniques passed down over time. Their motto, “Technique comes first,” reflects their commitment to craftsmanship. Using their five senses and constant innovation, the team aims to create high-quality, everyday sake that brings joy to all who drink it.
