Sake Trend will be at a grand opening for Jewell house Jewelry and Art Exhibition in Manhattan NY pouring Izumo Fuji Junmai Sake. Their project is called Kamigoto Project.

What is Kamiogoto?

The jewelry is designed in the Katakamuna script, what was created by the ancient Katakamuna civilization that is believed to have flourished in Japan long time before.

These characters are said to be the origin of the Japanese language and have been handed down in the form of “sound and shape” to convey the wisdom of the universe (KAMIGOTO).

This jewery was created by a Japanese artist, Akiko Haruna, she has her own shop in Izumo city.

We are pairing this Kamigoto Jewelry with Izumo Fuji Sake tonight in Manhattan, NY.

What is so special about Izumo Fuji Junmai?

This Izumo Fuji Brewery is located in Izumo city, Shimane prefecture. Izumo City, located in Shimane Prefecture, Japan, is a historic and culturally significant area known for its connection to Japanese mythology, traditions, and stunning natural beauty.

Historical Significance:

Izumo is one of Japan’s oldest regions and plays a central role in Shinto mythology. It is considered the birthplace of many Japanese deities and legends.

Cultural Importance:

The city is famous for its traditional crafts, particularly Izumo Soba (buckwheat noodles) and Wagasa (Japanese umbrellas).

Scenic Beauty:

Surrounded by nature, Izumo boasts coastal views, mountains, and rivers. The Hinomisaki Coast and Mountains.

In Izumo, the birthplace of sake, offer it to the gods by offering it for rituals such as weddings, funerals, and seasonal festivals. At these times, our sake can enter sacred rooms where people cannot usually go so we brew our sake with responsibility and pride.

Do you know the fascinating Japanese sake term "Mokkiri"?

This delightful tradition involves serving sake in an overfilled glass that sits atop a "masu." It dates back to the old custom of filling a masu to the brim, known as "morikiri." Tavern owners began placing a saucer or additional masu beneath the glass to catch the delightful overflow when serving the standard180ml (1 gou).

This charming practice not only signifies generosity but also embodies the spirit of hospitality that is deeply rooted in Japanese culture, where offering more than expected is a heartfelt gesture. Join us for a special demonstration of "Mokkiri" at the Jewel House New York Grand Opening! Plus, Sake Trend is excited to offer a stunning set featuring Izumo Fuji sake and the Alklic1 gou Masu (180 ml) Masu.

This masu is crafted by Tomonari Kogyo in Japan, and these art is all hand-crafted by artists.
