IWATE MEIJO SAKE BREWERY
Maesawa, Japan • Iwate Prefecture, in Northeast Japan, is famous
for beef, seafood, and sake – and baseball.

This is a baseball-themed sake made from 100% "Ginginga" rice grown in Oshu City. Enjoy it as the perfect companion while watching a baseball game.

Junmai Ginjo (Pitcher)
A sake with a crisp, fruity aroma.

Oshu no Ryu" (Dragon of Oshu)
Launched in 2017 as a brand for international markets, the *Oshu no Ryu* series embodies the ambition of Oshu City’s only sake brewery to aim for greater heights, like a soaring dragon.

The rice is contract-grown in the Oshu region, and all ingredients, including yeast and koji mold, are sourced exclusively from Iwate Prefecture. This “All-Iwate” sake delivers a fruity aroma and a clean, crisp finish.

In 2024, the brand achieved a remarkable milestone by winning the Gold Medal in the Junmai Daiginjo category at the International Wine Challenge (IWC), one of the most prestigious global sake competitions.

Since 2022, a special edition *“Baseball Bottle”* has been sold to support Oshu-born superstars, making it a unique and celebratory choice for sports fans.

About Iwate Meijo
Iwate Meijo is a family-owned shuzo (brewery)
with a 150-year heritage. It was created in 1955
from the merger of two sake brewers that had
been operating since the early Taisho period. The
dragon on the label pays tribute to Masamune
Date, the “one-eyed dragon” of Oshu. Date
was a famous samurai, warrior, and diplomat in
Japan’s Tohoku Region, where Iwate Meijo is
located.
