BREWRY
Situated in the Aizu region of Fukushima, a land steeped in Samurai history, Miyaizumi Meijo embarked on a journey to revitalize its longstanding tradition of sake brewing. In 2008, the brewery introduced the Sharaku brand, aiming to infuse new vitality into its operations. Through significant adjustments to the Toji system and meticulous attention to every aspect of the brewing process, Sharaku achieved a remarkable focus and balance of flavor. This dedication to quality swiftly propelled the label to its award-winning status shortly after its debut.

AIZU region

The Aizu region refers to the area to the west of the Ou Mountains, which extend from the north to the central part of the prefecture, and together with the Echigo Mountains, which extend to the border of Niigata Prefecture, forms a highly undulating mountain region. Mt. Bandai, Lake Inawashiro, and the Goshikinuma lakes and marshes are located in the northern region, and on the west side of Mt. Bandai lies a low-lying topography called the Aizu Basin, which consists of foothills, alluvial fans, and deltaic lowlands .

The Aizu region is surrounded by picturesque landscapes, including mountains, rivers, and forests. The changing seasons bring a variety of scenic views, making it a popular destination for nature enthusiasts.
